Painting Project Statement

“No to Violence Against Women; Narratives That Are Seen”

This collection of paintings is an attempt to express the pain, silences, and stories that many women experience in the face of violence—stories that sometimes remain hidden behind walls of silence, ignored gazes, and concealed memories.

The aim of this project is to create a space for being seen, being heard, and remembering the truth that no form of violence against women is acceptable.

In these works, crows appear as silent witnesses; creatures that, in silence, have witnessed events, suffering, and unspoken moments. They symbolize memory, observation, and the recording of stories that humans may have preferred to overlook. The crows’ gaze in this series is an invitation to confront truth, empathy, and social responsibility.
